The first vaccination is generally given to puppies at or before 16weeks of age. The second is given one year after the first vaccine. Then, your dog will be vaccinated every year depending on the state of exposure. Diseases such rabies, parvorirus, hepatitis, feline leukaemia and FIV can be very serious and even fatal. the antibodies from the mother generally circulate in the newborn’s blood for a number of weeks, usually more than a month. If the mother vaccinated before birth, you should not vaccinate your puppy until the pup is 12-24 weeks.

The core vaccines include the DHLPP— distemper, hepatitis, leptospirosis, parvo, and parainfluenza. Your pup will also need a rabies vaccination, Some clinics include the cost of the rabies vaccination. After your puppy’s third round of vaccinations at 16-18 weeks, they are finally ready to go to the park. In fact, at this stage they should be fully protected against the worst of the puppyhood diseases. That means your puppy can say hello to unfamiliar dogs now, too.
