The term genderqueer is very much similar to nonbinary, but has a slightly different meaning. The dictionary definition of genderqueer is “denoting or relating to a person who does not subscribe to conventional gender distinctions but identifies with neither, both, or a combination of male and female genders.”
Nonbinary and genderqueer are often used interchangeably by some, but not everyone considers them the same thing.
There are lots of words that are often used interchangeably, that doesn’t mean they don’t have different meanings. Genderqueer is anyone with a non-cis identity.
Nonbinary- There is a gender identity, but it doesn’t really fit into the male-female dichotomy. Agender is not really a rejection of gender identity so much as the lack of it.
