What is the meaning of angel halo? Does it carry any supernatural power or something?
Halo is a glowing light that circles something, like the moon or a person’s head. Painters of religious art often put a halo around the heads of angels and saints. A halo is a symbol of holiness, represented by a circle or arc of light around the head of a saint or holy person. Any circle of light can be described as a halo, even in a non-religious context; sometimes you’ll see a glowing halo of light around the moon, for example. The Halo also means glory or majesty.
In the Christian tradition it is made of divine light. A halo is a symbolic representation of the glow of sanctity given off by sacred persons and, sometimes objects. So Jesus, His saints, and His angels are commonly depicted with this symbol. Later artists during the Renaissance lost this idea of a symbol of light emanating from the person and took it more literally. That is why we have later paintings with halos that look like foreshortened dinner pates or gold rings. However it is depicted it is a symbol of the divine light.
