Why is whiskey not kept in the refrigerator?

You can store your whisky wherever you like. You can still store this however you like it’s your whiskey, although refrigerator your whiskey is going to affect the taste. If you want to enjoy your whiskey I would not suggest doing this. There is no benefit to refrigerating it, it’s not going to go off. Whiskey is packed with layers of flavours. The nose of the whisky enhances the taste. Refrigerating it will suppress the nose.
I don’t see anything wrong with keeping whiskey in the fridge, I’ve done it quite a number of times and I haven’t noticed it detracting from the flavours at all. It won’t have any negative impact on the liquid. I keep my gin in the freezer too and IMO, it boosts the flavour of the whiskey even more.
