Housemate issue— it just got to the peak. Having strange people in my flat all the time, drinking and playing loud music. I really don’t know how to approach my roommate on this. I never knew this part of her until we started staying together, never saw her as someone who packed friends.
My roommate keeps bringing lots of people into the flat; smoking, drinking and doing all sorts. I am not cool with this. How can I handle this?

I’ve had this same experience, it was so terrible. I talked to her a lot of times, she’d stop for a while, then after few weeks, bring them back. I couldn’t study in at home. It got to a point I was always leaving the flat anytime it gets crowded. The day I stopped taking it from her was a night I was in my room, woh the music blaring from the speakers, then I heard my door opened forcefully. I was so scared, until I realized it was one of party guests. He was looking for the bathroom, then found himself in my room. It meant I wasn’t even safe in my own flat, a flat I co-owned. It was the following day I moved out of the flat. God some raise from my parents and I got me a new flat all to myself. Nothing beats living alone, you have the whole flat to yourself.
First expose the problem to your roommate. Treat it seriously. Tell them what don’t you like and why. You have to have logical reasons. Ask them what they think about it, but don’t let them downplay it. Since you are paying for it, it makes you entitled to enforce some of the rules within reason. Be reasonable with your request.
Depending on you and your roommate, this can take a while. Don’t back down, if needed you tell guests to please leave. Be polite and patient. Don’t involve third person parties until you see nobody is validating your request. If it fails, look up a new room.
