You should only bathe puppies that are older than 12 weeks. Until they are old enough you might have to settle cleaning your puppy with a sponge bath. Before your dog is 12 weeks old the less water the better. It is safe to give your 8-week old puppy a bath. If he’s not extremely dirty and just needs a gentle wipe down, you can still use a warm washcloth with a very little bit of puppy shampoo or even baking soda and water to help with any puppy odor.
No please. Puppies shouldn’t be bathed until they are at least four weeks old—six weeks old. The little guys have trouble regulating their body temperature at that age and can become chilled. Puppies who get sick with diarrhea may need a dunking, but the stress of a bath can make the illness worse. Baby wipes should be fine to use on your puppy. Make sure that you do not get any of the liquid from the wipes in or around his eye. If you see any reaction to the wipes, such as a rash or irritated area, you need to stop using the baby wipes and take your puppy into see your veterinarian.
