Global warming is causing the climate to change. This is generally bad, because a lot of the impacts are inherently bad, like more extreme weather events, and because the climate is changing faster than a lot of species can adapt. However, in some specific locations some of the climate change effects might be viewed as a positive. For example, one of the effects of climate change is more rainfall in the north-west of Western Australia.
Positive effects of global warming may include a longer growing season for crops, increased tourism, and melting of polar ice caps, which would create new shipping routes and opportunities for oil and natural gas drilling. People are extremely adaptable, and in adapting to change, become more capable – more inventive, with a larger variety of skills, and perhaps even more intelligent. Global warming may make our planet less livable, but make better people out of us as it does so.
