I really don’t see how too much sleep could lead to a stroke unless that means a decrease in exercise, which can be an issue. If someone is sleeping too much I would question what is the reason for the increased sleep because what ever it is might increase the risk. And what is too much sleep and for whom? Different people have different sleep requirements.
Long sleep duration, long midday napping, and poor sleep quality were independently and jointly associated with higher risks of incident stroke. Persistently long sleep duration or switch from average to long sleep duration increased the risk of stroke.
