Solar system components are tested in all different weather conditions to ensure they’re durable enough to withstand a reasonable level of severe weather. Solar panels’ resistance to wind is dependent on a variety of factors relating to how and where they’re installed. Rain even helps wash away dust on panels to keep them operating efficiently.
If your solar installation is of high quality, you should have no worries of your solar panels getting affected by strong winds. However, heavy winds that come with thunder lightning can inflict serious damage in your solar panels. Such that if you’re not well protected, lightning strike can cause damage on your solar panels and the repair may depends on the severity of the thunder strike.
