What does it mean to be stone hearted? Is someone with stone cold heart a psychopath?
For whatever reasons, you do not have the same levels of empathy that society seems to demand. That’s fine, as long as it doesn’t show too much in your professional/personal relationships. And IMHO, the mere feeling does nothing to help, unless it actually moves the person to offer some real help. So if you’re still feeling inadequate, go donate some money, help out in nearby charities, volunteer for a hotline, etc. That would be more useful to society instead of wallowing in guilt.
I sort of have a good knowledge of how you feel, I used to think there must be something wrong with me because I don’t feel some emotions the way I’d really want to, or the way I feel I’m expected to. You feel as though you have no empathy because you are not crying your heart out when other people are looking so sad. My dear friend, let me tell you, the fact that you even asked such a question means that you are way more empathetic, and warm heart than all those people who are visibly shaken.
