Skin colour alone doesn’t determine where you end up in life. Does a white homeless person have more privilege than Kanye West, Oprah Winfrey or Barack Obama? Just because you’re black, it doesn’t mean you can’t get an education and succeed.
In any case, I find the idea of “privilege” to be counter-productive and even destructive, because it teaches people that the odds are stacked against them from the start, so why even try?

I don’t think anyone can tell you what to do, you already know what your decision is. But for the sake of giving a response, I’ll definitely give my two cents. Any boyfriend that tells you not to wear makeup is either insecure or he strongly feels the makeup doesn’t fit you, maybe you don’t know how to apply the makeup well. If it’s the latter, he can always tell you that in a sensible way and may even enroll you in a makeup class. If it’s the former, I’ll strongly advise that you let him go, but if you think you can give up wearing makeup to secure your boyfriend, oh great, do that. But just know that the way he just told you to not wear makeup again is the same way he will complain about your clothes soon.
