Why is my AC leaking water?!

My air conditioner has been leaking water, although little but it’s now consistent. What’s causing this?

Your air conditioner drips water because the cold coil, called the evaporator because it evaporates liquid refrigerant inside and absorbs heat while doing so, also dehumidifies the air going through it because of its cold surfaces. The water that condenses on the coil is substantial, and on window air conditioners can be seen dripping down from the outside. If the water drips out from a central air conditioner where it’s not supposed to then there is a problem.

  2. Air conditioner uses water to cool the air entering the room and overtime it may leak. Sometimes the condensation on the cooling coils do drip water. If you have regularly maintained your ac, you have nothing to worry about. But if the leak bothers you, ask your ac technician to give it a thorough check. Sometimes a minor tweak here and there will solve the leak.
