What is the whole point of not cursing infront of kids when they’ll eventually get it all from their peers outside the house?

Why do they say don’t curse infront of kids even though they hear it all among their peers outside?

I’m not a parent, but I’ll take a stab at this. It’s not about not knowing about the words, it’s about knowing when it’s appropriate or acceptable to use them. Raising children is, among other things, a process of socializing them. Teaching them not to be selfish, to wait their turn, to share, and to have good manners. Part of good manners is knowing the difference between formal and informal situations, and how not to be offensive to others. Children don’t automatically know this, so parents have to set an example for them. If you swear a lot, they will learn to swear a lot, and they won’t necessarily notice the times when you don’t because it’s inappropriate. Often, at the times when you don’t swear they’re not even present to notice that you aren’t. You don’t want to have a kid who will embarrass you by swearing inappropriately in public. So you avoid swearing around them so that it doesn’t become a habit.
You can’t control what they see outside of the house but you can control what you teach them inside of it. Children tend to learn and pick up their habits much more based upon what they see and hear their parents actually doing more than anything else in their life. Even more than what their parents tell them to do or what they should do and even more then what they pick up from outdoors and their friends, the things little children see their parents doing has a huge impact on their own behavior. So if you are a parent who believes that the type of language a person uses is important and about not having to easily resort to low level and cheap language like curse words, then by simply having your own personal habit of not cursing you will end up going a long way towards having your child not end up using such a language so easily as they grow as well.
