Probably because they value other aspects of the relationship over marital fidelity. I think that is a valid personal choice. Maybe stability, security, children, financial concerns, faith, appearances, or complacency are more important. Maybe that future they planned together looks brighter than the one they could have apart. Maybe that care is a higher priority than sex. Maybe they simply do not believe in divorce. I think that individuals should weigh their benefits against their losses, and be happy with whatever decisions they make in regard to relationships. Regret is the real killer.
It can only be because they’re still in love with their partner. The partner might have fallen out of love with them for whatever reason. But the person that gets cheated on is not ready for the relationship to end. So they hope that the cheating partner will realize their mistake, and want to come back. So sad that when they do come back there is a good chance they will cheat again. Saying a cheater is always a cheater is not true. There have been a lot of couples that have made it past infidelity and had a great marriage. Just wish it happened more often.
