  1. I once had a pretty deep cut from football practice, I really didn’t think it was such a big deal until the school nurse said something about stitching it up. I was kind of scared cos I’d never had any stitching done on any part of my body before, it was kind of new for me. I expected that she’d give me some anesthetic, but she did not. Surprisingly, it wasn’t exactly painful. The pain only came when she was done with the stitching. A lot of people may not be able to withstand this, which is why I actually feel it is necessary to help patients numb pains a little if you’re going to be perform anything as small as even stitching.

  2. Most times, some of them just look at the situation on ground- the severity. They really can’t just administer anesthetic anyhow. Also, it is a known fact that some operations require that the patient is conscious through out the whole process. If it’s a case of emergency, the first thing is to save the life of the person first. As anesthetic drugs might not be readily available for use, would you rather they wait till they get? No. So they’ll kind of have to work out the operation just like that.
