  1. For me, I believe people tip just for the great and proper service.
It actually shouldn’t be this way. But a lot of waiters and waitresses rely heavily on the tips.
In Ohio, the minimum wage is $8.15 an hour. Of which an employer only has to pay about half, the rest must be made up in tips received from customers. If a wait person falls short of the minimum wage, the employer has to make up the difference. However, the employer may not keep you long, if you are not making up the balance in tips and your employer has to pay you out of their pocket for the balance.

  2. I ALWAYS leave a tip only when I enjoy he services rendered. I can’t experience a horrible service, pay for it and still drop tip again. I don’t have problem dropping the tip so far your service is great. There was a time I had a waitress that completely ignored me despite the fact that I was her only customer, preferring instead to flirt with who I assumed was a boyfriend. Instead of dropping off the tip, I took out a little shot of paper and wrote “When it comes to waitressing, you’ll make a great hair dresser.” At this point in my life, I have eaten in a lot of restaurants and no one can force me into tipping if I don’t experiment a good service.
