Dark or black line running the length of your fingernail can have several causes, some of which are benign and temporary, while others are concerning because they could indicate a serious underlying disorder. If you have a black line in one or more of your nails, then it would be a good idea to make an appointment with your family doctor for an examination, so the cause of the symptom can be determined, and treated effectively.
It means nail trauma, I get this when I do house hold chores neglecting my fingers and nails, for example, when cleaning, I wash the mop, I twist it so hard to remove excess water, twisting hard involve hands specially finger tips, thats when too much pressure on tips of fingers increase and causes damage to the nail. Or, during cleaning I clean windows or corners while pressing a piece of cloth with my finger, so that’s the time Iām cleaning so hard and neglecting its repercussions on my nails. So I get these lines on my nails.
