The end SARS is a movement to put an end to SARS activities in the country. The Special Anti-Robbery Squad (SARS) is a branch of the Nigeria Police Force that deals with crimes associated with armed robbery and firearms. However, the unit has been alleged to be engaged in human right abuses, illegal stop and search, illegal arrest and detention, extra-judicial killings, sexual harassment of women and brutalizing many young Nigerians. The unit is also know for harassing people who have piercings, tattoos, dreadlocks, gold chains and drive nice cars. They target the youths majorly, which makes it hard and unsafe for youths to move freely within the country, especially in major cities. The recent horrific activities made the citizens start peaceful protests requesting that the unit be scrapped off.
It is a movement formed on the social media to put an end to police brutality in Nigeria. The movement became a big deal when lots of Nigerians youths moved out to have peaceful protests demanding that their government do something concerning the police brutality and misuse of power given to them. There has been allegations against the special anti-Robert squad (sars) in which trampling upon the human right of the people is a major part. The citizens demand that government totally abolish the unit and reform the police force so the country could be peaceful.
