Trimethylaminuria is a condition that causes the body to produce a fishy odor that is released in the sweat, urine, breath, and reproductive fluids. People with trimethylaminuria are unable to break down trimethylamine, a chemical found in certain foods. The excess trimethylamine builds up and is the source of the odor. There are no other physical symptoms from trimethylaminuria, but people with this condition may experience serious psychological and social distress. This condition causes people to have a rotten fish smell. The odor may get worse with activities that increase sweating, such as exercise. In females, symptoms may be worse right before and during menstruation, after taking oral contraceptives, or around the time of menopause
Never have I ever imagined a condition such as progeria until I saw a child suffering from condition. Progeria is an extremely rare, genetic disorder that causes children to age rapidly, starting in their first two years of life. Sufferers of this fatal illness have a striking appearance of premature ageing, but die at an average age of 13. They experience growth delay between nine and 24 months, leading to abnormal facial developments such as a disproportionately small face, overly big head, bulging-prominent eyes and an underdeveloped jaw. By the age of two, hair from the scalp, eyebrows and eyelashes is lost. Progeria is usually detected in infancy or early childhood, often at regular checkups, when a baby first shows the characteristic signs of premature aging.
