I’d like to have a good insight into the major components of the two iPad variants in my question title. Having a good knowledge of the two will help me make a good decision when making purchase.

The iPad Pro has a Liquid Retina display with very thin bezels all around. It features a FaceID sensor instead of the old TouchID. The iPad Pro display has a 120 Hz screen. It uses a USB-C connector. It also uses a faster chip, it starts at 128GB of storage vs 64for the Air, and goes up to 1TB instead of 256GB. And finally it supports the new Apple Pencil 2 with magnetic inductive charging. On the top of that of course, there are margins, and Apple loves margins, but not just that. It is obviously more expensive to build, and so it is higher priced.
The latest iPad Air will be the go-to option for many looking to pick up a new tablet. That’s because the iPad Air has received most of the iPad Pro’s premium features at an appealing starting price that is $200 below the $799 11-inch iPad Pro. However, that doesn’t mean the iPad Pro won’t be the better fit for those that need the best overall performance. While even Apple has confirmed the iPad Air will outperform the iPad Pro in some use cases, the iPad Pro still includes a more powerful GPU and more RAM.
