Staying safe online has never been more challenging than it is now. You may get victimized by viruses, spyware, malware, rootkits, or trojan at any time for a single error or a bit of ignorance online. It seems the internet is being more vulnerable day by day and it’s pretty hard sometimes to think of how to get full proof security on your devices either it’s a pc, laptop, or mobile phone. It’s important to stay on the safe side. You don’t have to go overboard with the antivirus tool that you choose. In fact, you have many free options that you should consider. Here are some of the best free antivirus for Mac in 2021; Norton, BullGuard, Total AV, BitDefender, Avast. Yet, I advise you about evaluating new and refreshed software on a regular basis.

The Mac comes with malware protection built in- XProtect Which is really all you need. I would avoid MacKeeper, CleanMyMac or any of these aftermarket solutions. Some of these actually have malware-like problems and actually reduce security. If you work in an environment where you interact with Windows PCs, some additional software could be used to prevent passing Windows malware through Email. ClamXav might be worth using. This will scan for Windows malware. But isn’t really protecting your Mac.
Most so-called virus-scanners for the Mac just sit there looking for Windows malware which isn’t going to infect your system in the first place.
This is how you protect your Mac.
      1) Stick to running software from trusted sources. The Mac App store probably being the safest way to get new apps. By default the Mac will not run software from un-safe sources. Leave the settings in the safest configuration. Keep the system up to date. If new vulnerabilities are found, then you want the updates. Do not install Adobe Flash. Do not install the Java Runtime. (Java is not Javascript). There have been very few malware attacks on the Mac. But the only ones worth mentioning have arrived via Flash or Java.
I would stick to Safari over Chrome.
