There is a red line that is often present on drug satchels, what does the red line mean?
Just like the other person had pointed out, a red line on a drug pack simply means it’s a drug you can’t just walk into a pharmacy to purchase- not just any over the counter type of drug. You have to have a genuine doctor’s recommendation for such drug before you can purchase it.
It means you should take that medicine if and only if a doctor prescribes it. A red line means it is a prescription drug. Red line on strip aimed at discouraging unnecessary prescription and over-the-counter sale of antibiotics causing drugresistance for several critical diseases including TB, malaria, urinary tract infection and even HIV.
