The flight attendants have been trained vigorously for such moments. So, follow the instructions they give. If everyone is on the same page and understands what is expected of them, people will be working together to get everyone out. Don’t waste your time taking video with your camera. If you survive with a video, it’s cool. If you die because you were more interested in taking a video than paying attention, it’s not so cool. Pay attention. If a water landing do not inflate your lifevest until you are actually at the doorway. If you inflate it and the aircraft fills with water, you will get trapped on the ceiling and not be able to swim underwater to get out the exit. If this happens, get out of your lifevest to be able to swim out and hang onto someone once out. Lifevests easily buoy 2 people. After exiting the aircraft, move well away towards the wind so that smoke and fire move away from you. Do not lie down in tall grass. Do not completely leave the area so that you can be accounted for.

First, rid yourself of anything that is sharp. Loosen your belt and free your clothes as well. Identify the closest exit door and make a note of the number of seats there. Stay in your seat until a member of the cabin crew says you can leave the aircraft. Always follow instructions from the stewardesses. Never open a door without being told to by a attendant either. If there is smoke, drop onto the floor immediately, you will be able to breathe better that way.
If you have one, use a piece of cloth that is damp you can tie over your mouth in the event of smoke. Leave unvaluable things behind, you can always replace them later on. Oh and do not panic this increases your chances of survival.
If you have a child, make sure they are calm too. Have a plan that you can stick to in the event of a emergency onboard the flight. Help them take off their seatbelt. Figure out if you’re over the sea or not. If you are, prepare for a water landing scenario to happen. If you’re with a baby tell the attendants. Plane crashes don’t always kill everyone it depends on the situation.
