Reach out to all the kids’ parents and be sure they all consent o their children coming over. Keep the foods and snacks simple, and be sure to know about the kids’ allergies and health conditions. One of the best ways to avoid arguments and problems during the night is to set firm but reasonable rules from the beginning. This might include where kids can play, indoor rules for your home, outside boundaries, soda limits, and internet/phone boundaries. Also, don’t forget to set a firm lights-out time to ensure everyone gets enough sleep. The last thing you’ll want to deal with are a bunch of cranky and tired kids the next morning. Be flexible with your plans and be prepared for deviations.
First, you have to get in touch with each of the children’s parents, and arrange the time for drop off and pick up. There’s nothing worse than a sleepover that lasts all the next day with a bunch of over tired boys and girls. Also, ask for any allergies as you’ll be providing snacks or food at some point. You can also ask for medical things you need to be aware of. For example if a child tells you they have a headache are you going to call their mum at midnight or can you give them a paracetamol and cool pack? Most importantly, you should be clear with your kids and their friends parents that the sleepover requires pyjamas or onesies. Not shorts for boys or short night dresses for girls. They have to be comfortable around each other as they would be spending the night all together.
