Brain zaps are a poorly understood symptom of antidepressant discontinuation, which require further study for both better prevention and treatment. The apparent association of brain zaps with lateral eye movements may open avenues for investigation of this process.
Brain zaps are random firings of your brain. It could be caused by medication; either too much or too little. Or maybe simply the wrong one for you. It could also be a form of epilepsy or like in my case, a warning for my narcolepsy. Sleep deprivation can also cause chaos on the brain as well as stimulants. More so if you have both at the same time. It can be something serious, or maybe as simple as a vitamin deficiency. It’s best to talk to a doctor.
