What is the strangest phobia you’ve ever come across?
Pedophobia, fear of children, got to be the weirdest phobia I didn’t know existed. But I’ve seen it in people so, even though it sounds made up, it’s not. It’s real. It’s an abnormal fear of babies and children. People with this type of phobia develop anxiety when they’re around kids or when people are talking about babies around them. They avoid places where there are plenty kids, it’s only normal that these people don’t plan on having kids of their own. Sounds so irrational but real.
You’ve probably heard of insomnia, yes you must have. But have you heard of somniphobia? It is having a sleep phobia that goes beyond that type of anxiety, and people may have panic attacks at bedtime or stay up to the point of exhaustion. The main triggers of somniphobia, as well as something that often goes along with it, is diagnosis of a sleep disorder like night terrors, sleep paralysis, or sleepwalking.
