Would you rather use a tampon or use a sanitary pad during your menstruation. I love tampons because of how seamless wearing them is, plus you can even swim with it!

I am more comfortable with tampons and I think they’re way better than sanitary pads. They are comfortable, and provide greater freedom, you shouldn’t be able to feel it inside you, if inserted correctly, you could forget you even have it on. You can swim with confidence, without worrying about messing up your bathing suit or the pool. Less exposure to the blood itself, especially great for the squeamish.
They also have less menstrual smells, as the bloody part is contained within, and not exposed when you use the lavatory. Using Tampons with an applicator makes for easy insertion. Unlike sanitary pads, they do not feel like nappies, nor are they bulky, or noisy. No adjustment is necessary during the day, unlike pads. They are easily disposed of, as all materials can be flushed away. A pad needs to be securely wrapped up, and disposed of, therefore not the most discrete option.
Tampons come in an array of sizes for different absorbency, to cater for your specific flow. It is convenient as mixed boxes can be purchased. With pads, the higher the absorbency, the bigger or thicker you will need, making it more uncomfortable.
The decision depends on the woman when she has her periods. Some women like pads and they feel comfortable in being able to change them every couple of hours or so. Some women prefer tampons as they allow you to still do all the exercise that you normally would, such as swimming etc and it keeps blood away from the body, whilst allowing for less frequent changing. I personally am not a fan of pads as I don’t like having to clean blood off myself and prefer to keep it neat and clean. Some women are not keen on inserting a tampon or cup into their body, and that’s perfectly fine too. There is also the option of a menstrual cup which can be reused and collect the blood from your body, to be disposed of at a later date. Women generally have preferences for comfort, personal feels of hygiene, affordability, convenience and even environmental factors as throwing away pads and tampons can have an impact on the amount of rubbish produced by a home and society.
