Our brains respond differently when we listen to a recitation of stories than when we listen to a fact. Listening to facts mainly stimulates the two language-processing areas of the brain. Infusing storytelling into science would aid teaching science to lay men and school kids. Science is about collaboration, and collaboration is about communication.
Well, if they’re telling the stories to a large population that’s totally fine and acceptable. I completely disagree when talking about academic papers. The non-scientists of the world should be told the story in a way they can follow without needing extra schooling. This will also help get more people interested in science and, in turn, more science funding.
