Child abuse can come in different forms, ranging from engaging in sexual activities with the child to participating in child pornography. In school, such children may be reported as not being cheerful as they used to be. You may also notice a significant drop in their academic performance. Also, if you notice a child is afraid of someone they probably weren’t scared of before, don’t let it slide. Pay attention to complaints from such child, always be on the lookout.
Child sexual abuse occurs when an adult or older adolescent uses a child for sexual arousal. This might seem unthinkable as it is truly a despicable act but it happens and it quite common, especially when the girl child is concerned. Children who have suffered or suffering from sexual abuse tend to have behavioral changes- they tend to show some changes in their behaviors. Some may become more clingy than usual, some may become more distant or withdrawn as they don’t know who to trust. Some may become more aggressive, trouble sleeping, having nightmares and even bed wetting.
