I don’t encourage young folks to take up unpaid internship, whatever happened to learning and getting paid? Of course, the pay isn’t going to be exactly dope dope, but it’s something. It’s normal in the tech industry to pay interns decently, so an unpaid internship is extremely out of the norm in tech.
Unpaid internships sound ridiculous to me but then, it is what it is. Supply and demand, mainly. If there are a lot of people on the job market but few companies hiring, people are willing to take unpaid internships that lead to jobs later on. There are good internships and bad internships. The good internships I did are the reason I am employed right now. I got useful experiences out of them.
