What are the secrets to a happy and long lasting marriage?
Yes, there are secrets to happy and long lasting marriages but these secrets are not some general rules that work for all. What works for one may not work for another, so you just have to figure out what exactly work for you and your spouse. But over the years, what cannot be taken with levity is communication, either in a marriage or courtship. Communication is key to everything good and sour in a relationship, hence, if you want your relationship to be a lasting one, don’t shy away from communication. Every other things are secondary.
Most important is to always communicate, no matter how small the issue is. Neither of you are mind readers so dont expect your partner to just magically know what’s wrong. You have to face problems and make decisions as a team. You respect each other’s opinions, collaborate, and make the best decisions as a team. That way there is no winning or losing an argument, just teamwork.
