It’s definitely a personal choice depending on what works best for you and what you’re going for. Personally I’ve only been using a water based cleanser during the pandemic since I’m not going outside, and also because my skin has been decently okay. If I wanted better skin or had more money, then I’d double cleanse even without wearing makeup and sunscreen since my skin type is oily.
If you have pretty oily skin, the water-based cleanser is a great choice for you. For example; miscellar water or rose water are ultra-gentle options that work to remove dirt, oil and makeup with no harsh rubbing or tugging necessary. It does an excellent job at cleansing the skin without stripping it or leaving a tight feeling.
