From what I have read of other people’s experiences with this, in a majority of cases taste and smell will return over time. You just have to hope. If this were to happen to me I would try smelling some tiger balm, which is very strong, to see if I could detect it at all. I would also boil a pot of water and breathe over the steam to clear my air passages as much as possible, and I would do that frequently. Getting back the sense of smell is key because really you cannot taste if you cannot smell.
I lost my taste and smell in 2020 but I don’t know if it was covid cos I wasn’t sick or nothing. Never got tested, but if it was Covid I’d say I got off lightly. Couldn’t taste or smell anything for over a week. I wasn’t even aware of when it got back but what I’ve realised is, the two sense came back even stronger. My smelling game is 💯 something I used to complain about before then.
