A moving lump around the neck can be benign or cancerous. Both can be non-painful, going to the hospital to get it checked is the only way to truly know a cancerous lump from non-cancerous lump, doing that early enough saves you a lot of troubles.

Most of the time, moving lumps around the neck are just swollen lymph nodes. Whenever your body experiences an infection, your lymph nodes may become swollen because they are filter tissues that store white blood cells needed to fight infection. But you should also know that ping lumps around the neck can also be cancerous even though they seem non-painful, so you may need a biopsy to confirm your lump is benign.
