In fact drinking chilled milk have many health benefits.
Relieves acidity— Cold milk can provide instant relief from the burning sensation one suffers in acidity. Milk contains lactic acid that normalises acidity in the stomach. Further, high amounts of calcium can prevent acid build-up and absorb excess acid produced, reducing its symptoms.
Hydrates your body— Cold milk is packed with electrolytes that can help your body combat dehydration. Drinking a glass of cold milk, twice a day, can prevent your body from getting dehydrated. The best time to drink milk is early in the morning. Never drink milk immediately before retiring to bed as it may lead to digestive issues. Also, avoid drinking cold milk if you are suffering from cold and flu.
Aids in digestion— Cold milk has carminative properties that can be very good for digestion. It also helps in washing down the fat, ghee or oil that normally coats the inner wall of your food pipe. You can also add ginger or pepper to the milk to make it more effective for digestion.
It is perfectly safe and okay to consume refrigerated milk. Cold milk just tastes better, but there is nothing wrong with it. Cold will actually kill most bacteria. Heat is the other way to kill the bacteria. Today most milk is pasteurized (brought to a quick boil, then quickly cooled), to my knowledge even Organic Milk is pasteurized. So go ahead and enjoy your cold milk from the fridge!
