You can do whatever you want, obviously. Just like with anything in life. But, keep in mind there are consequences for everything.
Some companies really do their research before hiring or even interviewing. They look at each and every one of the references and past work and education. Sure, you may get lucky once in a while. But if they ever find out, they can fire you even after you’re hired. There’s no sense in lying. If you have experience that doesn’t quite count as a job or schoolwork, you may put it down as volunteer or hobby, and if they ask you can expand on it. Just be honest.
Good luck. Sometimes, interviewing is more about charisma than what’s on a piece of paper. And prior to that, write an amazing cover letter to showcase your writing and personality (and let it enhance your resume, not simply repeat it); that’s the place where you can emphasize skills you may have been unable to put on the resume or you can go into more detail into your role.

When you lie on a resume, it’s a matter of breaking your level of trust and integrity. So recruiters and hiring managers will lose respect for you. And they will question your level of honesty and how much integrity you have. Trust me, you do not want them remotely doing these! And yes, there are consequences, like being fired immediately upon discovery of the lie, even if it happens to be years later. And it doesn’t matter how great your job performance has been or how well-liked you are. The simple fact is you fabricated something and lied. That is something nobody wants nor will admire in any way. So lying on your resume or CV can have very serious consequences whenever it’s been discovered that you either faked a degree or your schooling.
