I recently asked my employee if she was mad because I made a mistake which was totally my fault but I didn’t know upfront, is it okay to insult her?

This is an apparent case of unprofessional conduct. It is unproffesional and unethical to insult or abuse your employees in any way, if an employee has made a mistake, you can politely let them know to make changes, don’t go about your day being a bully because it is not a good look.
Generally no, it is not okay for you to insult your employees, for whatever reason, that is being abusive and that is toxic. If you find yourself insulting your employees at work, take a step back and think about what is causing you to be angry enough to insult someone who you are in no way responsible for.
