I’m a vegan, and I’d like to turn my dog into one too. Is this okay?

If you feed your dog a vegan diet you will probably kill him or her. I have been plant-based on and off for the last five years, and no I do not feed my dogs or cats a vegan diet. I feed them based on their own dietary needs under the advice of a vet. Dogs are omnivorous leaning towards carnivorous.
You need to understand that a dog’s body system is different from that of human. We as humans can easily adapt to new eating patterns, but can we say the same about dogs? I guess not. Dogs are different. They are not carnivores but are very close to carnivores. You can tell that just by looking at their teeth. So they do best on a predominantly meat diet with a bit of veggies. I am a vegan. I feed my dogs and cats a meat based diet. It’s not a great deal of fun, but if I ask them to share my life, then I have to give them their natural diet.
