actually, I never rate my Uber drivers 5stars whenever they do that. I think it’s really rude, you could’ve gotten your gas before accepting my trip, but you just had to do that during my trip. I don’t like it.
Is it appropriate for Uber drivers to stop and get gas while the ride is still on?

Apart from the fact that it will could cost the customer more, it is an unprofessional thing to do. It is a best practice to, fill your tank as a rider before you start your day or if it looks as though you will need fuel soon, go offline, get some fuel, then, continue your daywork.
It depends on the passenger, you can always rate the driver lower if he doesn’t get your permission first. But, since getting gas during the ride is not one of those things that are specifically forbidden. If passengers can ask the driver to stop while they shop, or take them through a drive-through, then drivers can ask passengers to wait while they get gas. Yes, it might cost the customer more, although it might not either.
