I like to call it Catcrack. I’m not a fan on how it makes them act both psychologicrsally and physically. The main ingredient is Nepetalactone that is found in leaves and stems. It is thought to mimic feline pheromones and trigger those receptors.
Catnip is not related to the cannabis family, but it has some mild relaxation effects that cats and humans, you can have catnip tea as a mild sedative, like very much. I love giving my cat some catnip because it makes him go on a bit of an energy spree, and then he’s super relaxed and content.
