Reversing a car is an activity I am so bad at, I try as much as possible to avoid situations that would require me to reverse. How do I learn how to reverse on my own terms?

set plastic cones out behind the car that you can practice backing through. Look over your shoulder until you are confident then try using only the mirrors. After you get that accomplished, set them out in a manner that you can parallel park into.

Practice practice practice. Like anything you want to be good at you have to practice. Go find an empty lot on the weekends, and just practice what you can’t seem to do. I was lucky, my mother did this with me when I was around 15 and it’s made me a much better driver. I went into drivers ed being able to drive a stick and parallel park. How do professional athletes become so good at what they do? They practice more than anything else.
