Ergophobia or fear of work is the feeling of intense anxiety that a person experiences when they have to go and stay at their workplace. This irrational fear presents with very high levels of anxiety that can take the form of panic attacks. Anyone at any given time may feel restless, insecure, or a certain fear of going to work, but when this fear lasts too long, and it is intense enough that work activity causes constant discomfort, it is no longer a fear. conventional to become ergophobia.
We are evolutionarily programmed to resist change: This fear plays out in everyday life as well! That new job you are going to start, that girl you’d like to talk to but just can’t! That dance class you’ve always wanted to join, but just couldn’t get yourself to enrol to! We are hardwired to fear change; but in our current times, this isn’t necessarily a useful trait. The most successful people in the world got that way because they embraced uncertainty. And that will be the same for you too!
