No one can be totally emotionless. One can only learn how to control emotions. And that ain’t easy. This question mostly arises in mind when you are going through a down phase Of a situation. When you try to be emotionless, it hurts even more because you are not only lying to person in front but also to yourself. The only way to deal with emotional stuff is time. Give it some time. Either things will work or they will not, either you will be left heart broken or with the love you always wanted.
First, you will need to distance yourself from people you feel close to or have known for a long time. Then, you have to build up walls. Prepare yourself mentally and be sure to be able to shrug off any insults, threats, put towards you. Next, you must strengthen your wall. Start telling yourself that you are worthless, pathetic and useless. Basically anything negative. If you have not mentally prepared yourself enough, this will probably lead to depression instead of lack of emotion.
If you feel offended, take it as a chance to strengthen your walls by reminding yourself that it doesn’t matter.
