Dementia is not a disease. It is a cluster of symptoms that are caused by an underlying disease. You cannot protect your brain from dementia but you can take steps to lower your chances of acquiring some of the diseases that can cause dementia. Only have fast food occasionally not every night or almost every night. A good balanced diet is a start. Exercise is also important in giving a flow of blood through the brain. This is thought to lower your chances of acquiring Alzheimers disease. Have regular health checks so that any problems can be discovered and treated.

There are really no known real cures for Dementia, but living a clean no drugs, no drinks, low risk life is a start. Your diet and the amount of exercise you get is important Clean air clean water and drink a lot of water, control and avoid depression, control and avoid stress, seek out temperate friends, read and do art or craft projects. Have hobbies, take vacations with the friends and someone to love, get a pet or two. Meditate if you can, watch some sunsets and sun rises.
