how can the lungs be cleaned?

  • 4

Our lungs do a lot for us. Even though most of us don’t think of the lungs as something we can exercise, it’s possible to take steps to help them work better.

The air we breathe can be contaminated with all kinds of pollutants trapped in the air and enter our lungs. Although our lungs are mostly self-cleaning organs, but there are certain things you can do to help them function at an optimal level.

      Everything I’ve ever read about lung health suggests time and fresh air. The more damage that has been done, the longer the healing process.
      It goes without saying, but if you smoke tobacco, quit.
      I am obsessed with fresh air. It was one of the key requirements to where I decided to relocate. If you live in an area with high carbon pollution and have the ability to move, do it.
      Having clean air outside, and being able to open your house windows as often as weather permits is so refreshing(literally). If you are unable to move or are apt to giving your green thumb a try, invest some time and money into indoor plants to help purify your home. Many studies have suggested an overall improvement in physical health and mental wellbeing could be seen by those that took up gardening and caring for plant life. Aside from these tips, exercise is always beneficial. Hiking, running, meditation, and yoga can all do wonders for lung health and overall wellness. Best of luck in your search for good health and wellbeing

      The lungs are self-cleaning organs that will begin to heal themselves once their exposure to pollutants stops. Some of the Ways to clear the lungs are;
      1. Steam therapy- Steam therapy, or steam inhalation, involves inhaling water vapor to open the airways and help the lungs drain mucus. (This method is effective temporarily).
      2. Regular Exercise- Exercise forces the muscles to work harder, which increases the body’s breathing rate, resulting in a greater supply of oxygen to the muscles. It also improves circulation, making the body more efficient in removing the excess carbon dioxide that the body produces when exercising.
      Diaphragmatic breathing- Relax your shoulders and sit back or lie down. Place one hand on your belly and one on your chest. Inhale through your nose for two seconds, feeling the air move into your abdomen and feeling your stomach move out. Breathe out for two seconds through pursed lips while pressing on your abdomen.
      3. Change your diet- Drink green tea, it contains many antioxidants that may help reduce inflammation in the lungs. These compounds may even protect lung tissue from the harmful effects of smoke inhalation.
