How can I make home-made vegan food for my dog?

The doctor placed my dog on vegan diet due to some digestive issues; so he’s been off meaty food. I want to start making his food at home as I find it very hard seeing vegan dog food to buy around me.

I have fed my dog sort of vegetarian diet for 2years. And how I did that was by slicing the vegetables into small pieces for easy consumption. Usually I grab some carrots, celery, cauliflower. Slice them in smaller bits and blanches them in hot water for few seconds. Then I mix them with little cooked plain rice and her dry food.

It all depends on the protein requirement of your dog. If the requirement is matched you can make your dog live a healthy life by keeping it on vegetarian diet, but it is complex as you would miss always few important essential amino acids present in protein sources. So it is always beneficial you give your dog food rich in proteins with additional supplements which fulfills it, you can give home cooked food but give additional amino acids supplements along with it to maintain its health.
Pumpkin Rice pudding: Take about 150-250 grams of pumpkin pulp. Mix it with 1 bowl of rice. Add 3-5 cups of water and let it boil for a good 25 30 mins. Make sure the quantity of water is slightly on the higher side so the rice and pumpkin can mix very well. You can add Carrots, Beetroot(small quantities) or sweet potato to add flavour. Once done, add 2 to 3 teaspoons of honey. Your dog will surely love it.
