What are available applications that allow companies track the activities of their employees on the computer system
Some organizations choose to use employee tracking software for real spying. In that case, they set up employment monitoring software to run in the background on working PCs completely invisible to their users. This means, employers can easily set up spyware on employees’ PCs to monitor their employees activities on a computer without the employees knowing.
In my career, the only times we are asked for web usage reports are when either the employee isn’t getting their work done, or they are asking for a rather large raise. Either way IT doesn’t have time to watch or review anything. To my knowledge the information has never been used to threaten or browbeat employees into compliance. It seems that once trust has been lost between an employer and the employees, the rabbit hole to enforcing compliance is long and deep.
