  1. In the US military, it is not very common. It does happen but is often avoided because of fear of punishment and harassment. I remember hearing about one person who was discharged because he was homosexual. There were only a few whom we knew were homosexuals but it was one of those things where everyone just minded their own business about it.

    I feel that is an old policy that is no longer in place. I mean, in the past, gay men and women used to hide who they really are cos of the stigma from the society. Hence, they seem them as a rear if allowed i to the military. But over the years, things have changed. I have never been in the military, but I have heard from a good friend in the military that homosexuality is quite common and is actually pretty well accepted.
