Helicopter parents often have good intentions, but this parenting style is associated with negative outcomes. Helicopter parents are the types that expect perfection from their children. They may prevent their children from learning the important life skills such as survival skills, communication skills, interpersonal skills, these are the necessary skills an individual must have. But rather than allowing their children mix with their peer groups, helicopter parents would rather have their children to themselves and shield them from peer group participation in order to protect them.
Helicopter parenting is an approach to raising children that involves high levels of control and monitoring.This approach can have negative effects on children and even hinder their ability to develop independence and autonomy. An helicopter parent is the one that hovers over their children, monitor their kids 24/7 and try as much as possible to know what they’re doing at one time or the other.
