Gynecomastia is a condition that can first present in puberty or after infancy, as the young man is encountering many different changes in his body. An imbalance between testosterone and estrogen can cause breast tissue to develop and grow in a male. Although, gynecomastia can go away after puberty but it becomes permanent in adult men and the only effective and successful way to get rid of it is through surgical procedure.
Gynecomastia can go away. The majority of adolescent boys who experience enlarged breasts will see it subside as they reach adulthood. Men with fatty gynecomastia may see an improvement with weight loss and exercise. Or they can simply choose to treat it surgically.
